MERITIUS chose the form of a grouping of law firms (GIE), according to an original concept, with multiple advantages for the clients:

High level of expertise in each field of the law.
Each MERITIUS office was selected according to high and recognized expertise of that office in one or more complementary areas of law. Doing so, each MERITIUS lawyer who handles a case requiring specialised expertise, which he would not personally have, can call upon another specialized lawyer, from his own office or another MERITIUS office, to handle the case with him, with the best degree of competence and without overcost for the client.

A local contact with a national and international reach.
The relationship between the client and his lawyer is a personal relation, nourished by reciprocal confidence. With MERITIUS, the client keeps the contact with his personal lawyer who always remains his interlocutor, even if the best interest of the case requires another lawyer of the grouping to step in, whom the client will be able to also meet, if he so wishes. The respective MERITIUS offices completely cover the country, with wide linguistic abilities (beyond the main languages). In a delicate case, it is often invaluable to resort to a solicitor knowing the habits and peculiarities of the jurisdiction which must handle the case. For international problems or litigations, MERITIUS maintains the privileged contacts with many law firms in the other countries of interest to Belgian companies, via the European grouping CYRUS ROSS INTERNATIONAL (with affiliated law firms in most European countries).

Costs under control.
Experience tells that, proportionally, "large" law firms generate more overheads, that the client must finally bear. The MERITIUS law firms are average size offices, each firm remaining in control of its financial management. This makes it possible to maintain the management costs of each firm at a sensibly low level. Agreements between the firms within the grouping make it possible for the clients of MERITIUS to benefit from extensive expertise with a wide territorial cover without overcost.
